DIY Home projects

With my house being only 900 sq. feet on each level, I kept refusing to let myself buy a traditional kitchen table. I wanted something I could really utilize all my space with, so I went searching for used/cheap benches I could flip into something beautiful! And I found these....

They were on sale for $40 each! They were being discontinued and front of this one had scratches, I'll take it! Did I mention they also open... score! More storage for my cute little house. (And shoes =)) We decided to cut the arms off so we can hopefully put them together as one long corner bench someday. So I painted them a dark chocolate color and added the cushions.

My Dining room is painted with a color called elephant grey. After looking at millions of different fabrics, I found my favorite one that would match my color scheme at Walmart! And it just happened to be on sale also!

I'm so in love with them! I also added a table to this project that I will post later! The cushions are NO SEW cushions. (I have yet to master a sewing machine.yikes.) The no sew idea is from here...

My Java is so sweet, when I told him to move he thought I wanted him to sit. I couldn't help but keep him in the picture =)
